CT scans reduce lung cancer deaths by 20 percent


Recent studies released by the National Cancer Institute confirmed that twenty percent of lung cancer deaths can be reduced by using computer tomography scan.

The study was done for more than 50,000 adults aged 55 to 74 years old.

The project officer Christine Berg Saied that “This is the first time that we have seen clear evidence of a significant reduction in lung cancer mortality with a screening test in a randomized controlled trial”

Chest X-Ray alone would never help in the diagnosis of cancer. It is not an accident that studies prove CT scans reduce lung cancer deaths by 20%.It is definitely a good sign in preventing cancer death due to lung diseases.
